New Media Versus Old Media

Both the old and new media saw an opportunity to put up a show of strength again. Anwar's sodomy allegations gave them a new avenue to play their game. Only this time, their object is Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, the accuser.

Blogs have gone on an overdrive to paint a negative picture of Saiful. On the other side, old media such as the NST is trying to reverse public opinion about him. Not to be left out, Janna Syariza, the fiancee of Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, has declared that she will stand by her man through the “monstrous battle that is looming ahead”.

I can't understand what 'monstrous battle' she meant here. The approach to the allegations is really simple.

I heard that the medical report on Saiful's condition is already out. We don't need rocket scientists to help us or the police understand the report. It should read whether or not a 'penetration into the anus' of Saiful did happen. Was there a fresh or old tear?

Checks yesterday also revealed that doctors at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital, after a battery of tests, found indications that Mohd Saiful had engaged in anal sex.

Can the evidence prove that Anwar was the aggressor? Is Saiful a victim? What is the motive of the accuser?

Apart from some suggestions that it will not be possible for a 61-year old man to forcefully 'rape' a 23-year old man by himself (bad back included), were there any other individuals involved? Did Saiful name them?

We do not need speculations, allegations, assumptions and worse politicisation of the case. Just get down right to the facts and findings.

I have said that Malaysians are growing tired and suspicious of all politicians. We must get down to the bottom of this case and someone must be made to pay for the stupidity or crime.

So, why can't the police act on the medical report immediately? Need the help of rocket scientists?
