Ineffective Politicians Should Quit

Enough is enough. We have had enough of ineffective politicians and policy makers telling us that poor governance is not their fault. Yet, they wanted to rule our life. Making yoga illegal. Trying to become our moral guardians. Make petty, racist and gender chauvinist statements in the parliament. Some acting more like tyrants than policy makers.

It is time for these politicians to do their job. Where are the necessary actions and policy responses to the myriad of issues and problems faced by the society? Why allow indiscriminate hill side development? Why allow express buses continue to menace the lives of innocent passengers? Are we expected to be responsible to check on our own if the buses are safe to take?

Don't be foolish. Do not think that we are fools.

Politicians from both sides of the fence should really start to do something about rising crime, environmental problems, cleanliness and others.

While the global economy continues to wobble, we have not heard of any concise plan yet from the government to help the nation prepare against possible economic downturn. I have received feedback from friends and family members that food cost is still very high although retail oil prices have been reduced. What is the government doing about this?

Minister Shahrir Samad should bring down further the retail oil prices. If he is hiking the prices according to market prices, when isn't he doing the same when the prices have gone down? Shahrir should not just ask the people to be patient. He should do his job or just quit.

I have residences in both Penang and Selangor. Both areas are still filthy, dirty and unsafe. What is the PR government going to do?

People are beginning to find life as usual even after a change of government. We did not hire new people to do the same old things.

If only more politicians can be like Balakong Assemblyman Yap. I called him to assist a family in Bandar Tun Hussein and he quickly dispatched his team including Penghulu Mr Neo within minutes and assisted us all the way.

Gerakan leaders are fuming mad about Pakatan's councillors in Penang. What did they do when they were in power? Why were the Cove condominiums in Tanjung Bungah approved? Why gave approvals to 3 of the 4 hotels within the heritage zone? If Gerakan were still in power, they would have approved the PGCC regardless of the public outcry.

We do not need another pot calling a kettle black. Stop the nuisance and just do your job. No one asks you seek for election if you are not keen to do your work.

Ah yes, a little more passion now. Straight Talk it is. One wonders if they seek to be elected for the power and dough or for the morally superior motive of service to the masses. I dare say 99% for the former, no Ghandhi, these people.

Simply amazing! Wherever there are troubles! Just blame everybody except oneself

Dear Mr Khoo,
What about you then? Apart from being the commitee for the Penang heritage, what have you done to the community at large?
Perhaps, you might have done so. What the hell are your acheivements?
Don't point finger at me! I have never complained to this extent. I am realistic fellow, knowing and understanding the limitation of what state government can do. Like Margaret Thracher, I am a fan of Yes Minister & Yes Prime Minister series
It's not easy for opposition controlled state governments. Constantly battling the federal government, state oppositionists, numerous NGOs like you plus the bourgeoius civil servants not answerable to state government (No heads roll)
I believe majority penangites understood my standpoint. Else, why that Tsu Koon & Chong Eu being given the task of governing for too long. Heck, private sector would never let you stay that long.
Like it or not, like would be as usual. As long as no major corruptions plus smooth handling of government, my guess is PR would stay there for long time
My opinion, if you want change. Try changing federal government. Then deal with the almighty civil servants. Just share a joke

Opposition in parliament/state assemblies - Opposition in exile

Civil Service - Opposition in residence

Do watch this videos. I sincerely hope that LGE can get hold of the top echolen civil servants (Oops, my parents were civil servants. Oops teachers). Explains why landslide happens over and over again with no actions taken

dear looes 74,

yes, where the heck are you? i rarely raise my voice on someone like you. i normally will post such comments and let them the way there are.

how do you know i haven't done anything more than just being a member of the heritage panel. are you even familiar with Penang or resting on your butt elsewhere but Penang?

your ignorance is not my fault. it is immature and childish to blame all inefficiencies on the federal government alone. yes, the BN federal government is to be blamed for not channeling mandatory financial assistance to the states. But there are many other things the state can do on its own.

the PR parties have been here long enough and should know the limitations once in governance. they should be prepared for it. are they? are there open to advice and assistance? are they approachable?

it is best you get some educated information about me before asking what i have got to show. what have you got to show?

Dear Mr Khoo,

I think many Malaysians shared your views. Our politicians are more like entertainer in a reality show. They treat the Parliament like a stage where they can perform, not as a politician but as an entertainer to garner the most votes!
What a disgrace!

Personally, I feel that Gerakan and present State Government should just cooperate with each other. Bad mouthing each other is not only childish and lacks proffesionalism.
This is not a popularity contest here. Less said and people can see for themselves who's really working and who's blowing lot's of hot air here. Penangnites needs leaders here to be good examples and to lead them out of this looming crisis.Gerakan should also thank their lucky stars that DAP won, so that they could reinvent themselves.Surely, they are aware they were in no position to help Penang in their present predicament. An old toothless tiger that needs a young blood with new ideas
