Catch These Fun Prisoners

MMail: NEXT month, look forward to loads of fun and laughter with the acclaimed Korean dance comedy, Break Out – Extreme Dance Comedy, in its debut performance here.

Organised by the Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO) and sponsored by LG Electronics, the B-boy performance is set to have the audience in stitches with continuously evolving and changing dance routines with their six charity performances in Kuala Lumpur and Penang. Break
Out tells the tale of five clumsy convicts who long to taste the freedom that lies beyond prison.

These five prisoners are inspired to plan a daring escape into the outside world when they receive a mysterious and sacred text.

The story is told in a form of a dance that adapts pre-existing dance moves and combines gymnastics, break dancing, yoga and martial arts moving to DJ music.

Break Out brings a new genre of entertainment with the B-Boy’s free dance moves that push the limits of the body’s movements.

Unlike other genres of dance, the moves are continuously changing and evolving allowing freedom of form that is refreshingly different.

The hip-hop culture and influence in B-boying is apparent in the catchy movements of the dances, fashion styles and music.

An instant box office hit in South Korea, this extreme dance comedy promises to entertain an audience of any age and culture.

Since its 2007 opening show in Korea, Break Out has performed to international audiences in London, New York, Mumbai, Shanghai, (Singapore), (Edinburgh) and Bangkok.

Net proceeds from the Charity Performances will be given to two charity organisations.
Proceeds from the Kuala Lumpur performances will be channelled to the LG Cleft Lip Project, a fund-raising project that is part of the consumer electronic giant’s corporate efforts to provide treatment and care for underprivileged patients who are affected by cleft lip and palate.

Meanwhile, proceeds from the Penang shows will be donated to D’Home Mental Health Association, a charitable organisation that provides support, guidance and education to family members and care-givers of the mentally ill.
