Gerakan, High Chapparal, Petty Politics & Irresponsible Leadership

The statement given by Gerakan Youth vice-chairman H'ng Khoon Leng is hilarious and bordering stupidity. I am not a DAP member or a staunch supporter of Penang CM Lim Guan Eng but I cannot help feeling disgusted with a political party which has displayed both petty politics and irresponsible leadership to the best of its ability.

H'ng said Lim was not being transparent on the location of his newly rented residence, tenancy agreement, deposit or the bungalow's renovation costs.

Lim's official residence was found to be infested by termites and red ants. H'ng added, "If he can't resolve minor problems plaguing Seri Teratai, how can he govern Penang successfully?" This is a masterclass statement. A statement that is neither meaningful nor purposeful.

Isn't Lim trying to solve the problem by moving out of the premise so that an insect-buster can work freely to destroy the breeding nests of these destructive insects? What does Gerakan expect Lim to do? Catch these insects with his barehands to prove that he can govern the state?

On the Kampung Buah Pala land fiasco, what was Gerakan's response? Ex-chief minister Koh Tsu Koon, whose administration had signed the S&P of the land to a cooperative in 2005, said he would not indulge in a blame game with the Penang CM Lim. Koh said Lim should focus on solving problems which included many of those created by his administration before the last general election.

If his youth vice-chairman is worth his salt, H'ng should demand that Koh use his influence in the PM's department to solve the Kampung Buah Pala issue which was created by the Gerakan-led government. Otherwise, how can the party convince Penangites that they should be given another chance to rule the state?

Koh's response to the issue is predictable. If Koh cannot even own up to his own political mistake and poor leadership which had caused a total wipe out of Gerakan in Penang, can we expect him to show us a responsible leadership by owning up to his mistakes and bad decisions in the Kampung Buah Pala and another quarry land fiascoes in Seberang Perai?

I am sick of such hypocrisy.

H'ng should ask Lim to show us his economic blueprint and when he intends to call for a local authority election. That would have been more relevant.

Many Penangites are waiting for that eunuch to tell us how a piece of land sold for less than RM4m is now worth many, many times more according to LGE.

These Gerakan rejects really think we Penangites can be 'entertained' with their childish and silly politicking? The more they show their immaturity, the least chance they can make a comeback.

I believe Koh is a eunuch. When he was CM of Penang he was arm-twisted into approving many things for UMNOputras one of which is this Kg Buah Pala land. Then there was this Khairy. You wouldn't believe what Khairy said of Koh and his govt. Koh is so eunuch that even a minnow UMNO leader can tear up his photo. Penangites should never ever return Koh and his party to Penang.

It is precisely such statements which continue to prove that BN parties such as Gerakan are no longer relevant to the new political landscape in Malaysia.

The Minister in charge of KPI had long ago failed in his personal KPI.

If this is the best Najib can find for the task, then, good-bye indeed to BN in the next GE

Malaysians look shamelessly stupid in the eyes of the outside world, no wonder we are usually looked down by Spore and western world. But we must give a big thank you to all these idiot BN politicians who loves to twist the truth to confuse the people helped by the newspapers- they have brought us this "honour".Shame on you stupid politicians.

I think this H'ng can himself disinfect the insects in his own house to prove that he can govern the state. Very laughable, when we had such leaders in the past. Penangnites should continue wake up and not let this leaders who are trying to take the governing of Penang.

Hi Mr Khoo,

If I remember correctly, Mr Lim Guan Eng didn't want to move into Seri Teratai when he was newly appointed as CM, reason given was that it would be too expensive to renovate, some parts require very extensive repairs. Could it be a case of termite infestation that could have been taken care of then?

Please enlighten. Tks.

Yes, Koh Tsu Koon was an ineffectual Chief Minister then. And why not? He was allowed by Umno's grace to be CM despite Umno having more seats than Gerakan. If he then had any self-respect, he wouldn't have accepted the post at all.

Yes, we mustn't allow any of the Gerakan jokers, especially Huan Cheng Guan, to make a "come back." The loot must be very lucrative as Huan can still afford to throw dinner parties for his hangers-on.

Why, KTK do you think that we are
that stupid. You do not dare to
indulge in the blame game because
you are scare that it will boomerang
back at you. Why, did you alienate
that piece of land to a co-operative
of senior government servant? So
they will do your bidding or were
you instructed by UMNO to do so.
Honestly, I think you should resign
from politics before the people of
Penang hate you more. You have done some good but you were to
timid to take on the UMNO guys.
