Government Transformation Programme - Stop Being Bombastic!

GTP contains some 7,000 nationwide activities, over 2,000 projects and 100 programmes. More work, more money needed, same people, same mindset and culture.

That in essence is what makes up the National Key Result Areas (NKRAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) which the Najib administration has set for itself and made public recently.

Both KPI Ministers Koh Tsu Koon and Idris Jala have promised full commitment and results. Both heads must roll if the GTP spends more than it achieves.

The BN regime should just stop being so bombastic. It should just start with a few reforms e.g. end the long-standing and divisive bumiputera and non-bumiputera dichotomy, end the NEP and replace it with a post-NEP socio-economic policy which is need and merit centric, stop racialising the education system, implement the IPCMC and create a multiracial, all inclusive BN party.

MACC and the police should immediately launch a thorough investigation against several destructive allegations made against the Prime Minister, his family members and his close associates in a murder case. It is necessary to ensure that no unscrupulous party can easily tarnish the head of government.

No need for 7000 activities. Just a handful of reforms mentioned above will help to restore the public's confidence of BN.

One more important reform, if I may add.
The judiciary.
See how the COA functions. Lightning decisions are made in favour of UMNO/BN and no decisions given when it favours Pakatan.
Just see how fast it overturns High Court decisions and see hos it sits on important judgement that favour Pakatan.
UMNo owns the judiciary today!!!

That's the way UMNO/BN operates. Announce their projects with pomp and fireworks BUT after 2 years, the cracks and leakages will appear for all to see. We have host of such projects throughout the rule of UMNO/BN.

Kay Peng,

You are damp right. Why 7,000 activities. Just a handful main and nagging unresolved issues will do.

To make it simple how about just follow the PR's four-point platform. That will be a good start. After all, these were what Zaid Ibrahim left unfinished when he was the Law Minister in the BN govt.

7000 activities,2000 projects.Wah!how much it is going to cost the govt coffer? What is your criteria of success-50%,60%,70%,80%,90%? I hope this is not like 'hangat hangat tahi ayam' type of things.

It looks like it's going to be another spending spree without getting very little in return. You are right that it's better to right a few things than to go for thousands of other things that will only burden us further. I think it's all hot air. And watch how they will brag about the little success they are able to achieve. With Ah Khoon in charge, don't raise our hope too high.

Tan Sri Koh is really a joker. He was appointed to spearhead the implementation of KPIs on cabinet members.

BUT, he chose to send mass SMS to BN cabinet members to remind them attending assembly meetings.

Does Tan Sri Koh have to send mass SMS to wake them up midnight to loo? Does Tan Sri Koh have to send mass SMS to remind them to wear condom to have safe sex?? These bunch of MPs are OLD and MATURE enough to think and act accordingly. If they fail to attend assembly meetings, just screw them up during election.

Why so many activities, projects and programmes? That's easy to answer. BN is sinking and all these activities are a conduit to allow leakage to fund their getaway and retirement after GE13.

Historically, every project by BN, there's high probability of leakages (read corruption). The bigger the project the higher the probability.

Let hope there's sufficient fund left for the opposition parties to re-build the nation.

No project means no money for the UMNO crony companies. So of course every 'improvement' program must have costly projects.

If just simple policy change, then who wants to be minister? The purpose become politicians is so you can hand out projects and funding to your people.

You are dam_ right.
But this is how the BN works, more projects more jalan and more benefits. If just do the fews you mentioned how to draw down the benefits?
Hei, we don't work for free, you know! Satu lagi project BN is the way to go!

Think on Najis's shoes, if you are Najis, are you going to let all these investigation to go on? If your answer is NO!, doesn't you too naive to believe Najis will?>

The judiciary, PDRM, MACC just 2 name a few need to be COMPLETELY revamp. Most of the people running these important ministries are either non-proficient, unethical, corrupted, racialistic etc... or do not not what they are doing.
Most important the PM has to clear himself of all the allegations thrown at him and his wife. He just cant say its "frivolous" or no comment. Thats not the way.

The PM and everybody else talk kok. You want the country to improve? Simple, no money required..just get the civil servants to get to the office on time, just do the work which they have been paid to do, limit canteen time to 15 minutes! Productivity will improve by 25% overnight!!
Maybe you should look at the Bank Negara governor! WTF when there is a press conference she got the whole of the BN staff to sit around and behind her!! And they dont say a word, have you ever heard them utter a word? Is their job to decorate the backdrop? At the most she needs 2 officials beside her in case she faints! The wastage..my god...
