'Allah' Protest Will Test the Faith of Protesters

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak said that the government cannot stop people from gathering at mosques tomorrow to protest against a court decision which had allowed the Christian publication Herald to use to term "Allah".

His ministers, Hishammuddin Hussein and Muhyiddin Yassin, have lend their indirect support and endorsement to the protesters.

The protest is being orchestrated by several Muslim NGOs in retaliation against the High Court's ruling on Dec 31 allowing the Catholic Church to use the word "Allah" in its weekly publication the Herald.

The stand taken by Najib, Hishammuddin and Muhyiddin shows that UMNO leadership is incapable of managing and governing a multiracial and multireligious society. They should have helped to mitigate any unwarranted emotional reactions and mediate between followers of the two faiths to find a solution.

How can the three leaders ensure that the protest does not become too heated and emotional? The cow head incident in Selangor should have been taken as a good reference point before the Home Minister allows the protest to be held.

UMNO leaders should have played a more proactive role to ease the tension and growing animosity between followers of the two faiths. Religious harmony is key to our success as a multiracial society.

The protest which will be held at the Kampung Baru mosque has more political significance than religious. It is a symbolic Malay political power base.

Najib must be held accountable for two things; firstly, his consistency on future peaceful and democratic protests and second, the peaceful nature of the Kampung Baru protest.

With these politicians not wanting to change their stripes, we may really need to help usher in a true people centric and democratic third (political) force - a truly People's Power.

Najib's ability to implement his 1Malaysia pledges is being seriously tested. This is the second challenge to his grand vision after the blown up of the jet engines theft scandal under his watch as the defence minister.

Protesters at the Kampung Baru mosque will face a true challenge of their faith in Islam. God is all loving and non-violence. Peace loving and God fearing Malaysians should wait to hear their statements.

UMNO is devious. They are pushing this as hard to deflect from other issues and also secure their votes for the future election. ;-)

Jet Engine:
=> the Defence Minister was either 'sacked' or 'forced to resign' as he tried to COVER UP the incident!! Nothing more obvious than this cover up. How come the Defence Minister was not aware of the theft when he had the absolute power alleged to be associated with the well-being of a Mongolian girl??????
=> Given his co-operation, the Defence Minister was promoted by the so-called half-awake PM. In fact, the ex-PM was also a crime-in-partner as he would have known all these cover-ups! Shame on the people who claims to uphold Islamic principles :)

"Allah" faithful
=> Protest against any decision is not allowed in open air except in the premise of MOSQUES
=> Not sure whether protests can be held in temples or churches???

Dear Sir,

It has turned ugly and being politicised by the government and the opposition. The Creator, the Al-Mighty, Tuhan, Allah, Yang Esa are the few of the many terms to describe the God of the human beings. It has been exploited by the various relegious groups to gain milage. It is easy exploited by certain faith to 'pull' the weak into its' dent. However, if the authority were to use it intelligently and with right approach it is benificial to Islam. An UMNO government that is 'weak' in coordinating and assimilating the islamic faith will eventually loose to the well equipped Christian Missionnary in wooing the non-believers to Islam. However, it is also a winning ticket if the UMNO government is committed to Islam by improving its approach if the term 'Allah' is freely use. In the Quran and the Hadith as claimed by PAS there is no hinderance for anybody to use the term "Allah" thus PAS supported its use by the non-believers. Many things are not in the hadiths and Quran, for Allah is testing the leaders of Islam in its interlectuality and its wisdom to 'handle' certain issues. The wisdom is in the UMNO's government as of now. Let's make 'doa' that this government knows how to see the big senario and plug all the available hoopholes and allow the use the term 'Allah' and gain milage from it. Show your wisdom my Leaders in UMNO if not this govenmnet will be doomed.

It is clear that they do not want to loose their support base by been too strict in their statement. I wonder whether the protesters have obtain permit from the PDRM. To me this is another double standard statments by the people in power. All leaders should cool down the sentiments and emotions of the people. Conflicts can be prevented or minimised by leaders if right words are use. God Bless Malaysia.

Quote:
In a milestone moment, PAS, the Islamic party, is holding onto the more plural and moderate position while Umno is digging itself into an intolerant hard-line position that has no parallel that I know of in the Muslim world.

“Umno is fanning communal sentiment, and the government it leads is taking up policy lines based on ‘sensitivities’ rather than principle. The issue appears to be more about racial sentiment than religious, let alone constitutional principles,”
Umno’s response to the “Allah” controversy was “short of leadership and moral fibre.”
This goes without saying that the present 3 apportunistic, racist and religious bigots in UMNO are not fit to run a multi-racial country as HM,DPM and PM.They just talk and talk about 1Malaysia, equality and fairness BUT acted otherwise. These guys are now trying to hoodwink and divert the rakyat attention from the numerous scandals currently reported like the PKFZ, missing military engine fiasco, unlawful means grabbing of Perak state, Mongolian lady brutal murder etc........
We must kick all these no good no heart bums outcome GE13.

Prime Minister Najib Razak and his cousin Hishammuddin Hussein Onn and UMNO are politicising "Allah" and fanning the fire of anger by encouraging rowdy protesters!
This will be the beginning of the downfall of UMNO/BN government.

What a bunch of hypocrites practising double standards - they were so
intolerant when it came to peaceful Candlight vigils, sent in their red squads in full combat-gear to bash up and arrest vigilers by hundreds, why?

I hope I am wrong here.Najib and his crew might be using the threat of unrest politically and now religiously to blackmail the rakyat.Plainly put,if you dont want me to rule the country and let the current police & military to exercise the law, anarchy will be the alternative.
I would not be surprised if it turns rowdy initially with the police moving in later to disperse.
All planned la.....Wayang kulit!

This is a joke by saying that he cannot stop people from gathering or protesting. Only a double taker and coward will say such thing. Nobody expect him to stop people physically, but being a national leader he should say that he disapproved of it, and discouraged people from joining, just like Anwar did. What happened to the use of tear gas and yellow water. Oh!! wrong crowd.

Morons and sycophants are the only customers for Najib's 1Malaysia bollocks bullshit. All others eat rice.

The events of these few days should smoothen the path towards the anihilation of HUMNO (yes, that humbug Party) in the next GE. They have only themselves to blame.

I was not wrong in anticipating some wayang kulit show orchestrated by Umno and their bosses to blackmail the rakyat into submission! But what surprised me is an open condemnation by none other than Khairy on the attacks even before his 'Big Brothers' make any statement or the "media(s) dares to publish! Strange?
