IGP Musa Hassan Claims Are More Serious Than One Israel = 1Malaysia

I had asked Anwar Ibrahim and Barisan Nasional leaders not to play up the controversy between One Israel and 1Malaysia. It is natural for APCO, an international PR company, to work with many governments in the world.

It is both racist and pathetic trying to drag the Jewish into the local bi-partisan battle. Can Anwar be so sure that he did not receive any funds or assistance from any Jewish backed or linked organisations?

However, IGP Musa claims of third party interference is a serious one. If the government responsible enough, it should immediately direct a parliamentary committee and a special commission (since there is no IPCMC) to investigate Musa's allegations.

Musa Hassan has declined to explain further his claims that a 'third force' comprising 'politicians or certain individuals' was influencing the police force.

His claims in an interview in Mingguan Malaysia on Sunday prompted Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein to ask the police force to investigate the matter further.

If not thoroughly investigated, Musa's claims will further erode the credibility of the government and the police force. Many were doubtful of the police impartiality because stern actions taken against Pakatan talks and functions had happened quite frequently.

Hishammudin should shoulder the responsibility to investigate the claims. If Musa is found vindicated, actions must be taken against the third force. Otherwise, Musa should be hauled up for disciplinary action for making false accusations.

It is time for the government and the police to be accountable.

Khoo,
I agree that Anwar and UMNO should stop this phobia towards the Jews. But then, I am sure Anwar would never have brought up this issue had not UMNO continued to label him a Jewish agent?
Its a fair game. Its politics.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with APCO procuring work for themselves with whomever they choose to pursue. It's their own prerogative, and that, is not the issue here.

The point of contention which you (and a large majority of netizens) have missed regarding this issue is that the BN government had labeled Anwar a Jewish agent. Hence, the ensuing One Israel & 1Malaysia brouhaha is a riposte of sorts against the accusations that were levelled against him. It is meant to highlight BN's complete inconsistency and how people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Precisely, it is both racist and pathetic dragging the Jewish into the local bi-partisan battle. But did you question objectively how did it begin? Was it not BN who stirred up this nonsense? It's just unfortunate that Anwar has to stoop to their level in an attempt to fend himself from character assassination. It's par for the course I say.

The rest of us sit on the broadside and we enjoy the liberty of writing and ranting away without being under the spotlight about what our leaders should and shouldn't do, but ultimately they are the ones who need to do something for themselves, in this case, defending oneself in the open. It comes across as self-serving to ask of others not to seemingly "play up" a "controversy" given that one's own character is being attacked.

Furthermore, yes, it is also natural for APCO to work with many governments in the world. Like I mentioned earlier, whoever pays their bills. If that is the case, then there would've been absolutely no need for APCO to come out and deny so hurriedly and feverishly, considering Anwar has not given a full explanation of his One Israel/1Malaysia connection yet.

This entire One Israel/1Malaysia "controversy" inherently does not carry within itself any racist overtones, it's merely to raise a question of credibility which BN does not possess. By attaching a racial sentiment like you and many others have, unfortunately, demonstrates that BN (and their propaganda) have found a way into your line of thinking to view issues in a racial vs. non-racial dichotomy when there are larger credibility issues at stake.

There's already so much nonsense tied to racism out there in our community now, we could do well without another being unnecessarily regarded as one.

Jubilee,
My hats off to you. I am not sure how Khoo gonna take it. This time he's purely wrong.
APCO issue must be brought because it touches on BN's credibility. Perhaps, Khoo should write on the inconsitency of BN not recognising Isreal while shaking hands with those who worked for Isreal. Hypocrites don't you think
BN go as far as interfering Singapore's foreign policy by complaining on Isreali's advisors working in Singapore during the 60s. Immediately after Singapore independence from Malaysia.
Honestly, I do hope that for once Singapore government must be happy in private with such development.
Anyway, wouldn't you agree if according to Khoo, Singapore government is wrong to release all documents pertaining to discussion between Mahathir & LKY on all bilaterial open points including the water issue? A brouhaha ended with Mahathir's sour defeat

I don't work for APCO. So go ahead and screw them 4 by 7 for all I care. Please come back when you have something more constructive to contribute.

@ looes74

KKP's posting isn't "wrong" per se, but it distinctively lacks any (no matter how brief) critical analysis. Hentam aje, mana cukup?

Musa made a mistake by blurting out the '3rd force' influencing the Police....probably too much pressure. Be rest assured he dared not reveal the '3rd force' as his future as a retired IGP is at stake. He wouldn't want to end up as a dramatist like his brother after retirement....when there are plenty of cushy and lucrative posts waiting for him! I will salute him if he dares to reveal the identity of the '3rd force'!
