Social Contract & 1Malaysia

PM Najib Razak should know that he cannot have the whole cake and eat it. He cannot champion the 'social contract' and promote 1Malaysia at the same time. It would be a hard sell. These two concepts are contradictory.

1Malaysia speaks of unity and equality. 1Malaysia should focus on the primacy and importance of citizenship. Malaysians should be proud of their nation and society. 1Malaysia is consistent with the vision of our forefathers to ensure that Malaysia develops as a secular democratic country.

However, his party had attempted to distort history, create an imaginary multi-tiered society of bumiputera Malay, non-Malay bumiputera, Chinese, Indian and others. His speech at the recent Umno generally assembly intended to stop this twisted notion of social structure and class from being properly debated by researchers, intellectuals and general public.

Years of social intoxication under Umno rule has made it almost impossible for any concept/vision such as Vision 2020, Bangsa Malaysia, 1Malaysia or a just and democratic society to work. The interpretation of Umno's social contract has created a generation of Malay students in one race institutions who are ignorant of the nation's history and its socio-political development. Click on this video to watch an example.

His administration, past administrations and his party annual assemblies have been repeating the same mantra of Malay supremacy, Malay rights and the social contract.

The fact that Umno has failed to acknowledge that Malay competitiveness is being eroded due to this false shield of Malay supremacy is the biggest sin committed by the party in order to sustain its grip on political power.

Malay students are make to believe that they do not have to excel in their studies because they have special birth rights and direct claim to the wealth and resources of this country.

They believe an easy passage in life is being laid for them by the government because they are special and supreme.

The social contract mantra promoted by Umno to get whole sale Malay support is going to erode the Malays socio-economic position in the future. Without real capability, knowledge, skill and communication ability, this special status is not going to help any Malay becoming a successful global citizen.

Malays should not blame other races for not being able to compete in the private sector. The rule of the game in private sector is merit based. There is no special quota or privileges. All participants have to play and accept the same rules.

Sadly, the more Najib preaches about the social contract the worse his reform credibility gets. A reformer should understand how this social contract is poisoning his own community.

Yes, I do agree with some Umno delegates on the 30 percent quota. Why just 30%? Like many others, I would like to see more capable Malays and would be happy if they can earn more than the 30% share of equity through their own capability, business acumen and know-how.

It is time this government stops flip-flopping. Between 1Malaysia and Social Contract ala Umno, the PM should just choose one. He cannot have the whole cake and eat it.

Reform? Thats merely lip service. The 1Malaysia thingy is nothing but bullshit. UMNO can never embrace an inclusive policy for the simple reason that it does not know of any other way to rule the country except by the concept of divide and rule.

And with 50 years of undisturbed rule, BN has transformed itself into nothing more than a money grubber, using the excuse of 30% bumi ownership to perpetuate the dream they sold to the unknowing Malays.

Its sad that there many Malays who still cannot see the forest for the trees. They have been blinded by all the sloganeering and falsehoods of race supremacy, distorted history, and racial hatred sown by the BN parties.

Yes, BN parties, including MCA , MIC and Gerakan because they never sought to correct the wrongs of their partner UMNO, over the entire 50 years of rule. Those parties were complicit in the entire political play of racial and religious divide, by their silence.

Now, as we near what must probably be the closest chance of saving our country from further rot, Malaysia's caring sons and daughters are threatened by their very own PM.

Sad.

What birth right do the descendants of pirates are you talking about ? The descendants of Orang Asli and the Head Hunters are the original people of Malaysia. At Umno meeting recently all these pirates admitted openly that they were Indonesians and half breeds.
Therefore it is time that we start to recognise the Orang Asli and the Head Hunter are the original people and fight for their rights and not the descendants of the pirates and robbers !
Shenanigan Mahathir was once again proven to be a half breed just like the Home Minister. If Allah wanted them to be true Malay they would have been borne true Malays and not Indonesians and half breeds.

Many Malay graduates are unemployable.
The majority of poor are the Malays.
They also face tremendous social problems because of poverty.
English proficiency is poor among Malays.
In business they hang on to the Chinese to do all the work and live off from their quota or by being sleeping partners as directors.
And in the UMNO assembly they call themselves Global Malays who can compete with any race in the world.

See how UMNO fools the Malays.

not all private sector based on merit. you cant deny the truth.
we went thru it many times.

1Malaysia + Social Contract= UMNO
IMalaysia = UMNO - Social Contract
Social Contract = UMNO - 1Malaysia
Therefore, 1Malaysia is 1Malaysia
and Social Contract is Social Contract.
Choose one; no 2 ways about it.
After 53 years of Independence, we are still talking about 1Malaysia; wallowing in the nursery of nation building.

In the video, the commentator stated that in exchange for the citizenship granted to the non-malays,the malay are given special privileges/position.So this is going to be intoxicated in the minds of the future generation and how would you expect unity for the country? This will incalcate a race which will always depend on their special rights for survival and the other races(the non-malays)made to slaught and support this group of 'special privileged'race. What kind of humanity is this?
Please look at Australia where an immigrant lady(from Sabah) was appointed the Minister of Finance. Why?
This will never happened in Malaysia(so called the Bolehland)!

Mr Khoo, what would you expect? If Najib don't say something which pleases the malays, the PERKASA flers will go after him! At the same time Najib also must want to please the non-malays,so he play the card of 1Malaysia(actually what is the real contents of this 1Malaysia,the majority of citizen still blur blur.To the non-malays,it means oneness in everything-govt policies, education, equal treatment irrespective of race. But to the malays,it could mean one language, one education system.
So I wonder how Malaysia going to achieve full unity?

What social contract are they talking about? Please show me in black and white, if not I'll give them some blue and black. Invented , retrofitting or imaginary piece of document?

The Constitution is the only legal document we should respect and follow. Does it says Malays are the so called "Tuans" in M'sia ? UMNO is trying to twist facts to remain in power. Feeding the Malay masses with a drug called "hak bumiputera",making them unable to compete on a level playing field with the other races. Forever the "cacat" race needing special care ?.

Politicians can never be trusted, especially from UMNO. Najib have mastered the art of 2-faced rhetorics. Selling the "1-Malaysia" medicine to the non-Malays and then setting up another stall at PWTC selling "Ketuanan Melayu". What's important to them is to remain in power regardless of how the rakyat suffers.

If he was on the ball and thinking / speaking with any recognisable degree of coherence, one would have expected Najib to make sense and not to rapidly kostan, or worse, contradict himself as he has done so many times recently.

One moment sounding statesman-like telling the Chinese that they are not pendatang, then cepat-cepat delivering his Malay wira defend Putrajaya at all cost even if lives are lost (though some have quickly asked if it was his own life at risk!) clarion call to the UMNO folks.

One moment so proudly announcing the 100-storey Warisan Merdeka plans, then next minute "it was not my idea" back-pedalling, never mind that he is head of the board which oversees PNB, the fingered "culprit". (And some have wondered just what he might have said if the tower idea had been warmly welcomed - would he have been just as quick to grab the glory for such a brilliant scheme for himself?)

One moment he tried to stem the outcry against his wife's big-bucks questionable award publicity do in USA with the double-page full-colour "First Lady" NYT ad... and before you know it, Rosmah initiated the RM24m "First Lady Summit" recently. With only 15 or 16 "First Lady" claimants attending (ie. about RM1.5m per "First Lady"), and a theme which sounded so grand, claiming to champion the nuturing of children as future leaders, just how many did not wonder why the big bucks was not spent on the so-called goal of the summit instead? But what did Najib do?

And the list goes on.

Aiyah... the son of Najib has a massive credibility problem. How many believe his words, his promises?

(Incidentally, his cousin Hisham the Home Minster is going down the same road, especially with his latest lembek "aware but cannot do anything" stance over the police beating up and arresting Selvachandran, the Gunasegaran inquest witness who had testified that he sawy policeman Mohd Faiza assaulting Guna. And Hisham's boss is Najib. )

I feel sad that the PM of Malaysia has been, and is being, called by so many derogatory names which I would not want to repeat here.

As an old-school dinosaur, I would have liked to be able to tell the young ones to honour the PM's position, even if they cannot do the same for the man holding the post. But as it stands, I cannot even do that; Najib has not been able to give me grounds to do so.

He has not won the confidence of a large (and apparently growing) segment of the rakyat, and does not command their respect. Quite the opposite.

I would not be surprised if with the growing negative perception of Najib, not only can he not "have the whole cake and eat it", but he may not have any cake left to eat at all.

The likelihood that he will simply be faced all too soon with either being kicked out come the next general elections (which is rumoured to be around the corner) , or be deposed as UMNO president and hence PM by his own party's warlords who see his increasing impotence, is very real, I think.

For a few dollars more many, many of our BN politicians (maybe including some from PR when opportunity arises)are most willing to BASTARDISE the whole country at the drop of a hat.Sad to know that we don't have many sincere politicians in our country who are willing to put God first instead of their lust for power and wealth, irrespective of their religious inclination.Very sad indeed Khoo.

A CONTRACT TO EXPAND AND CONTRACT?

In any democractic "social contract"
There must be room to "add and subtract"
Not merely with certain parties to suspect
When it should have been handled with full respect

BECAUSE MALAYSIAN CHINESE ASSOCIATION ARE GREAT FUCKERS

AND CHINESE IN MALAYSIA WHO VOTED FOR MCA ARE REAL FUCKED UP.

WHO TO BLAME ?

CHINESE YOURSELF UNLESS YOU STAND UP AND VOTE THEM OUT.

The social contract that the politicians are talking about had not been in existence until the later part of TDM's primiership.
It should be regarded as a new phenomenum in modern Malaysian history, years later, and only academically.

The Chinese were cheated by Mahatir in 1999. In 2003 he said he tried his best to prevent Chinese to get rich.
Why Chinese are so blind? Why MCA are so blind and still side with UMNO?
We must blame MCA leaders squarely; they cheated us and dragged us into this mess.
Wake up, kick MCA out!

Politicians are lalang, and when the wind blows to their right, they will bend to the left.

So, when C4 spoke at the UMNO assembly, he would have to reiterate the existence of social contract.

When C4 addresses the delegates at other BN parties' assemblies, he will reinforce 1Malaysia concept.

Two-faced politicians who know CYA well.

p/s: CYA = cover your ass!

Khoo, to be honest, what better time than now, to plunder the country make big bucks and disappear? The judiciary, police and anti-corrupt agencies are so weak and overloaded! So many old cases are still pending or under investigation.PKFZ,Bakum etc etc etc.Auditors General just thrown out more like the unused multi million Royal Theatre, no sardines, paying Millions for no work done etc etc etc. If I have the opportunity, I will too.Even if you triple the manpower in those agencies, there is no way to come close to punishing the culprits.Futhermore, those manning the agencies are of the same blood type.
An anology is cancer spreading in a patient staying in a hospital with unqualified doctors!

The 30% is what they like you to think they want for the Malays.
The 30% was achieved in the early years of when shenanigan Mahathir was the P.M. especially so when he implemented so many mega projects during the tenure of his rule. The actual figures shown he achieved during his 22 years tenure as P.M. were only several percentage, the bulk of it were achieved before he became the P.M..
Surely with his pro Malay policies that is a grand mother of all bluffs !
30% was only conceived at the start to fool themselves and those BN component party leaders but deep down they want everything. Will the pirates be satisfied with only 30% of the loots ?
In time to come Umno will want to nationalise all that is owned by non Malays. Just you wait and see and that is why Umno don't come out in the open with the formula of how the 30% is to be achieved. Further more when the expert came up a couple of years ago and said the 30% has been achieved and in the next few days he resigned. Why ?
