I left blogging for almost two months to allow myself to observe from outside the circle. It is good to be back.
Meanwhile, I was busy with events and traveling overseas to look at how far we have been left behind. I was in Seoul last week and a few Malaysian officials lamented to me that Malaysia is at least 10-15 years behind.
I agree! Not only in terms of physical development but most importantly mindset.
How can this country improve if those entrusted to govern do not embrace the responsibility to do a good job?
How much have been wasted on unproductive projects, white elephants, illogical expenses etc?
Can Malaysia continue its way and become a world-class country by 2020? I call it a pipe dream.
I am back but alas things have not changed at all in Malaysia. I urge you to do the same. Take a break, go for some trips and come back to find the stark difference.
Many societies and countries are racing against time to stride ahead. What about Malaysia?
The last I heard, this country is still full of unreasonable and power crazy people.
Were you caught in the massive traffic jam this morning? Do demonstrators need to bring in weapons from outside Klang Valley? Get real...we need the authority to use some common sense and save us the frustration!

I met a University Malaya Architecture Student who cannot speak english and doesnt know what is the difference between pillar and beam.
Even my 10 year old niece knows that.

Like you I also just came back from China small cities Xiamen and Guangzhou.Our country is not even near these 2 cities development and in 10 years time,these 2 small cities alone can outshine us.What had all our ministers seen when they travel abroad?How could we pretend we are are doing well compared to them?Dont accuse me of being racist or shut me off .A fact is a fact.The whole region is fast forwarding but our people spend more time arguing race,religion,supremacy,communism,minorities bashing, politics than real work to push the nation forward together.HOW SAD.

As long as Malaysia is in the watch of the Umno led government it will always be in the third world.
For all intent and purposes this is what they want otherwise they would not be able to corrupted themselves. They want the country to fill with illeterates just so they can go on lying to them so that they will accept their 'bribes' to elect them whenever the election comes. Umno just cannot afford to have the majority of the people literate enough to know what is good for them. That is why in every survey Malaysia is always at the bottom, except in the drinking of alcohol. It is indeed a record if you take into consideration of non muslims who are only allowed to drink alcohol. Or is it ?
May be that has something to do with the mindset of the people running the country.
If you think Malaysia will be a world-class country by 2020 it will not only be a pipe dream. It will never be achieved even in a hundred years ! Stay forever in the third world and go on with the numerous deceits and corrupt themselves till it becomes the first country in South East Asia to join Greece, Spain and Ireland.
Got change. We are moving so much closer to the 4th world state already.
The question is, how bad shape will msia be before umno die?

How to have common sense when those currently ruling are either goons or arrogant!
The only way to have common sense prevail is to get rid of those flers and we shall do it in the coming GE13!
Never mind we suffer now but the more they do it,the more determined will the people be.
Sacrifices have to be for a little while but we will savour the sweet fruit of soccess after GE13.

I went to a bank on Wednesday last week (July 6th 2011) to discuss about a loan I want to take out. The "LOAN OFFICER" did not understand what it meant by "Free of Encumbrances"!!!
I was nevertheless shocked. This is a LOAN OFFICER!!!
when we have people who are not bothered about the quality of their work, not proud of what they are doing, do not care about the outcome of their actions and don't respect the LAW, we have a problem.
From what I see and observed, the "OLD" school of thoughts are not present with the people coming into the work force over the last 15 years. To these people, they are just doing the job because it is a job. There is no passion in their work and they are not proud of what they do. So how to do a good job?? you can't.
We have people who believes it is okay to break the law as long as they are not caught! or they believe they can get out of it by devious means. Once the population of the country do not observe the law of the country, you are "F..."ed. Unfortunately, this is what I see happening more and more each day.
The only way for us to get out of this cycle is through EDUCATION. by EDUCATION, I mean not just from the schools but also from the parents of the child. Of course, the parents must be law abiding to start with. So can we do it??
I started with my children and I hope that is a small step in the right direction.
This is the only country I know as mine and my children only know of this country as their own. Going overseas are mainly for holidays not to scout for a new country to belong to. However, if things do not change, that may be the only option for us.
